About Da Lat City
With an altitude of 1,500m, an average temperature of just 17°C and dawns often bathed in early-morning mist, it's easy to see what lured the early explorers, including bacteriologist Alexandre Yersin, whose name you'll see adorning street signs across Vietnam.

Da Lat’s specific sights are pine wood (forming the name: “City of thousands of pine trees”) with twisting roads and tree marigold blossom in the winter. The city’s temperate weather stands in contrast to Vietnam’s otherwise tropical climate. Mist covering the valleys almost year-round leads to its name “City of eternal spring”. With its ideal weather, Da Lat is also one of Vietnam's premiere destinations for honeymooners. For others, Da Lat offers an excellent opportunity to explore some of Vietnam's hinterland, sample its outstanding produce and vacation.

Da Lat is slowly but surely gaining a reputation as being Vietnam's outdoor activity centre, with a number of places running all kinds of trips in the surrounding Highlands - the perfect location for hill-trekking, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, rock climbing and canyoning.
Da Lat Sightseeings
XUAN HUONG LAKE: Xuan Huong is the area's most beautiful lake, and is located in the centre of Dalat city. It is 5sq.km, in the shape of a crescent moon.
It is a poetic site, attracting visitors in search of relaxation and young lovers. The surface of the lake is as smooth as glass with the reflection of the surrounding pine trees. The road around the lake is also encompassed by pine trees.

VALLEY OF LOVE: About 5 km from Dalat's centre to the North, the Valley of Love is ringed by hilly slopes covered with pines. Under King Bao Dai the valley was called Hoa Binh (Peace).
In 1972 Da Thien lake was created in the valley. As a result of this enhancement, the valley has become even more poetic and seductive and has attracted countless visitors and, of course, lovers.

PALACES: Dalat has three magnificent, large palaces which are always referred to as Palace 1, Palace 2 and Palace 3. The architectural designs for the palaces were completed by the French. They are accessible by long flights of brick steps and gently sloping roads. The path is completely covered with a broad canopy of pine trees.
Palace 1 and Palace 2 were owned by French high-ranking officials during the colonization of more than 40 years ago. Palace 2 is a dignified building of modern design, built in 1933.

PONGUAR WATERFALL: This waterfall is the most magnificent and powerful waterfall in the vicinity of Dalat. Located more than 50km away, in the mountains, Ponguar Waterfall is 40m high. The water falls into a big lake producing a great noise, whose echo can be heard far way.

PRENN FALLS: The Prenn Waterfall is located at the foot of the 10km - long Prenn mountain pass, on the route from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh city. The famous waterfalls are located approximately 100m from the road.

Approaching the falls there is a subtle change in temperature caused by mist of the water falling. At the foot of the falls is a small valley of flowers and pine trees. The 10m cascading water falls down over the small bridge built across a little lake.
