Where We Fit in the Hockey World
Teams are permitted to protect a maximum of 25 players at a date determined by the President, in advance of the annual draft. This list must include all age eligible players returning to the team, plus any acquired players currently on their 30 man list. Players on the team sixteen year old list must be ported to the 25 man list or released outright and thereby become eligible for the draft. Players on A cards must clear waivers prior to being deleted from the 25 man list prior to the draft. Each season, at a date determined by the President, the league shall conduct a distribution of bantam aged players in a method approved by the league.
The Minor Management Committee met just two or three times a year to resolve disciplinary problems and set the playdown format for the Bantam, Midget and Juvenile divisions. But the playdowns created more problems than usual and three members of the committee argued that minor hockey would run far more efficiently if the committee met more frequently. The ideal committee, they said, would consist of volunteeers from within the minor hockey community, with one member from the ODHA executive. The committee also wanted a voice on the executive, and suggested a minor committee member be given a seat with full voting privileges.
